Bongaon PS is the Hqrs Police Station of Bongaon Police District. It is located about 90 km away from State capital having geographical position atÂ 23.07Â°N 88.82Â°E. Bongaon is considered as the gateway to Bangladesh. Bonagoan PS jurisdiction is spread over 157 sq. km area which includes Bongaon Municipality (22 wards with a population of 1,10,668) and part of Bongaon CD Block (AllGram Panchayets of Bongaon Block, except Chaoighoria, with a population of 380,903).\r\n\r\nBibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay, who penned Pather Pachali, Ichamati and Aranyak,was born in Bongaon. Dinabandhu Mitra, a famous playwright, who wrote Nildarpan, was also a part of this town and Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, the discoverer of the Mohenjo-Daro civilisation was also brought up in Bongaon.\r\n\r\nTourists are attracted to Bongaon for an artificial forest Parmadan, having variety of flora and fauna and for a very old Nilkuthi which stands as a testimonial of the British regime\'s tyranny over Neell or indigo farmers.
