About Bagda PS

Bagda Police Station have the concurrent jurisdiction with Bagda CD Block. Total area of Bagda PS is 235 km2. According to Census 2011, Bagda has a population of 2,42,974 persons out of which 1,25,270 are male and rest 1,17,704 are female). There are 57,502 houses in this PS/Block area which are spread over in 108 villages.rnrnBeing a Police station having international border, Bagda is an important location from strategic and military point view. It is to be mentioned here that village Boyra of this PS is remembered in history for the Battle of Boyra, It was an aerial interception battle fought on 22 November 1971, between the Indian Air Force and intruding Pakistani Air Force jets. 2 Sabre aircraft of Pakistan were shot down and 2 Pakistani pilots were arrested as PoW. It was the first air combat in 1971 Indo-Pak war.rnrnBagda has a stretch of 233.05 km of International border with Bangladesh. There isrnrnconsiderable presence of BSF authority in this PS area to guard the border.
